This last week I finished up my 2015 Cover Page for Project Life. I’m super excited about it, as it’s my first dive into hybrid Project Life. I’ve either been doing pages digital or traditional, not a mix of both. I rather enjoyed doing a hybrid layout, and adding elements to digital papers after they’ve been printed out.
The awesome journal cards are from Sahlin Studios called This New Year ’15. Wood chip is from Studio Calico, Felt Dolly from OhDeerMe Kit, House epoxy from OhDeerMe Kit, Enamel Dots from Twine + Ink, Chipboard Stars from Studio Calico, Numbers from Basic Grey, Becky Higgins Pocket A Design cut to 9×12 and sewn.
I wanted something super simple, without too much going on as far as elements go. I’m going for a pretty minimalistic look for 2015, with a focus on the photos and journaling rather than doing a bunch of elements and layering. I really don’t want the page cluttered by a bunch of junk, which I think makes project life pages look messy.
I can’t remember what kit the wood chip was in from Studio Calico, but when I first got it, I remember thinking “What in the world am I going to use THAT for?!” Sometime in November I seen on Pinterest that people were using them for ornaments by stamping images on them. I didn’t have a piece of sanding paper to smooth my wood chip down, so I used numbers from basic grey for the 2015 image. I like the way it turned out!
