Pre-Drywall Meeting

Friday at 1pm we had our pre-drywall meeting! My father in law came with because he had some questions about some pipes in the basement, and it was nice to have someone else there with me who understood better than I do what some of the things were for. There’s only some minor issues they have going on. 1 being some missing 2×4’s in the shower to create the lip at the bottom so water doesn’t spill everywhere, and the other one being a latch missing for the sliding glass patio door.

They were hauling in the drywall when we were doing our walk-through. They plan on starting on Monday after the framing inspection. They also had a insulation inspection yesterday after we were done. They were also supposed to start on the brick Friday, but the guys didn’t show up for some reason.

All in all, everything is ahead of schedule. We’re looking at an EARLY June closing. They have it tentatively schedule for the 7th, but he wants to get us to closing by May 31st!!!! WOW! It’s coming up SUPER fast! I’m not going to get my hopes up at an early closing, but it would be super nice to have it be early.

It is going to take them 2-3 weeks for drywall apparently. 1-3 days to hang it all, and then a week or two to mud it/sand it/etc. Depending on what the weather is like, it might be sooner or later on the second phase of drywall. It all has to do with moisture and how long it takes for the “mud” on the drywall to dry.

We’ve got all the correct windows in place now, and even windows down in the basement.

I think the only thing I have left on my list of things that need to get done, is pick out our landscaping bushes that we want.

I can’t believe how fast it’s coming together!!!
