What a great 4th of July Weekend it has been! We’ve had tons of activities going on and I’m exhausted, but I wanted to share what we’ve been up to lately. I do want to mention that I’ve been absent for a while from the blog because my mom passed away on June 9th. I’ll write a little more about it in another blog post.
July 3rd was Jesse’s squadron’s family picnic at the park. We went to a big park in the area and had a great time, but boy was it hot. We left pretty early due to the heat, the imminent rain, and a grumpy 2.5 year old.
July 4th was pretty awesome. Rylie and I were in the local city parade with the Girl Scouts, and we had a great time. It was a really long walk and by the end we were so ready to be done with it.
July 5th was a local ice cream shop’s first anniversary of being in business, so after it stopped raining we went to get some ice cream. While coming out of our neighborhood we seen a beautiful rainbow.
Our ice cream was so good! If we could have ice cream every day I would. Wouldn’t do anything for my figure, but oh well.
July 6th, Rylie and I went to a “sampler” girl scout camp. She was able to experience all of the fun things that camp had to offer. Their first activity was “water games” which was really just a huge makeshift tube water slide. Rylie was in line and ready to go and then one of the camp instructors decided to spray the girls with water which set Rylie into hysterics. She didn’t want to do it after that and was upset that the girl had sprayed her.
Probably her favorite activity of the day was creeking. She had so much fun walking in the water and looking for fish/fossils. Meanwhile, I think all the girls hated the hike we did later in the day.
It was an absolutely wonderful weekend, and I’m glad I got to spend it outdoors. We were really afraid it was going to rain the entire weekend, so we were pretty lucky!
